Party Like a Sculptor
All it takes is a pile of sand, some buckets of water, and lots of imagination to build a masterpiece — at least for ten master sculptors who return to Treasure Island for the 11th annual Sanding Ovations Masters Cup Sand Sculpture Competition and Music Festival November 20-24, 2019.
 
The masterful exhibition of sand sculpting talent at the world-class level is the big appeal, supplemented by the giant sponsor sculpture created by Treasure Island’s own Meredith and Dan Doubleday of Sanding Ovations professional sand sculptors.
 
Sanding Ovations, Treasure Island’s signature sand sculpting event since its inception in 2009, is now the signature sand sculpting event of the southeast, with professional sculptors representing seven countries from around the world and attracting crowds of 25,000 or more. On Wednesday, November 20, you can party like a sculptor at the nice-but-casual-enough-for-flip-flops Beach Cafe at the Bilmar Beach Resort, 10650 Gulf Boulevard in Treasure Island. The Party begins at 7pm.
 
$15 gets you in the door where you can enjoy a spread of tasty light hors d’ oeuvres from Sloppy Joe’s Restaurant, and a great assortment of Corona beer provided by Great Bay Distributors. Music by Kristine Jackson.
 
Tickets for Party with the Sculptors are available at the door or in advance at the Treasure Island Recreation Department at the Treasure Island City Hall, 120 108th Avenue.
